I have held funeral ceremonies for tiny babies and women over a 100, for people who have died by suicide and young people who did not make it through their risk taking 20's, for people after a long cancer trajectory and for people taken out of the blue in a car crash. And I have held their families and guided them through the funeral process.
I will come to you and we will talk. I will get to know you and the person who has died, we will talk about their death and their life, their friends and their family, their achievements and their sadness. We owe it to them to see them clearly, to see the whole person, there is no light without shadow.
This meeting will take a couple of hours.
Together we will figure out how to celebrate them
It's a weird specialism that I find myself having but I can hold people through that particular 2 -3 weeks between a death and the funeral, I have been doing it for 20 years.
The funeral ceremony is about them but for you.
